The Final Test
by the critically acclaimed Derby born author Chris Paling before the professional tour.
Peter sits in the garden listening to the test match on his radio and is unaware that Ruth has sold their house (even though he signed the papers) and that the removal men have been and gone.
Ruth tells Peter she has bought a flat in Bexhill and is going to live there with her boyfriend and leaves the new owners, Susan and Ray, to find him still sitting in the garden listening to his radio.
Susan tries everything she can during the next few days to evict Peter and in desperation she agrees to summon Ruth.
Many home truths are learned about both couples before a resolution is found.
